Thanks for this. I tried this out and am wondering if you think this has a more cumulative effect of does it seem to work the day of?

Also, do you (or anyone else here) have any issues with the magnesium making you sleepy? Thanks again!

Hi lovely!! Such a good question! 🩷

I’d say it’s honestly both, there are definitely cumulative benefits when you’re taking it consistently (supporting overall inflammation), but it also works really well day of.

On the first day of my period, when my cramps are a little more intense, I’ll take about a ¼ cup shot and then wait 15 minutes to see how my body responds. Usually within that 15 minutes, I can already feel my cramps starting to ease up.

If I’m having a more intense cycle, I’ll take another shot after that and then just kind of dose it as needed from there. Basically, whenever my cramps start to come back online, I’ll take another shot and it usually calms them down again within about 15 minutes.

If I’m having a very mild cycle, I might only need one or two shots total. But if my cycle is more intense or I’m in a bit of a flare, I’ll take more throughout the day as needed.

And for the magnesium yes, I totally get that. Some forms can make you sleepy.

For the magnesium, I use magnesium malate in this, which for me still feels really calming but doesn’t make me sleepy. I know some people get really sleepy with magnesium glycinate, so if that’s happening for you, I’d try switching to malate!

I hope this helped If you have any more questions at all, please ask me!! 😊

I can’t wait to try this recipe! Silly question, about how many ml would you say is in each shot?

Hi!! I'm so excited for you to try it! I take about a quarter cup every morning and I think that converts to around 60ml!

Was literally looking for a ginger turmeric shot recipe for inflammation and this one popped up before I even searched. Hallelujah I’m grateful! Also what type of magnesium should one get for this?

Whoo hoo I'm so happy it popped up for you!! I have two magnesiums linked in the post that I really like! Let me know if you make it or have any other question!!

Oooh definitely going to try this. How large would you say is a large piece of ginger? Ginger isn't my favorite so I'll probably completely underestimate it haha

I totally get not loving ginger haha it is an acquired taste, but it has all the juicy magic anti-inflammatory benefits✨🤌🏼

I would say piece the size of your palm is good!

And if I were you, I would make the pineapple version of this because it masks the flavor of the ginger more (and is the better of the two recipes in my opinion). 🍍

Thanks so much! I definitely would have underestimated that 😂 I love pineapple so was leaning that direction. Excited to try this ☺️

I'm glad you liked it! Yes, I feel that the missing piece for most of us when it comes to period pain is doing things to help beforehand, but to do that, we first need to understand why!
